The United American Orthodox Catholic Church joins with Christians around the world in mourning the death of His Holiness, Francis, Pope of Rome and Patriarch of the West.

The Council of Bishops has issued a statement on the repose of Pope Francis, commending his soul to the mercy and love of God. In this time of sorrow, the Council invites the faithful of the Church to offer prayers for the repose of his soul and for the Roman Church in this time of transition.

May his memory be eternal, and may his witness continue to call the Church into deeper unity and love.
